Our entire team shares a common philosophy: to approach all of our efforts with the idea of pure service or ‘seva’; to share only what we know to be true because we have experienced it deep within ourselves; and to teach as much as possible by example, letting the way we live reflect the greater truths that we wish to impart.
DIRECTOR & YOGA TEACHER
Raised and educated in Switzerland, Simone began her life of service in early childhood, saving up her monthly allowance and sending it to international aid organizations. After years of working as a counselor specializing in women’s issues, she trained with Yoga Arts in Australia before teaching throughout the greater Asian realm, enjoying the simple, free and romantic life of a traveling Yogini. Initially inspired by Ashtanga, she moved on to study Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga before founding the School of Sacred Arts (‘SOSA’), later diving into Yoga Nidra, in order to share the gift of yoga more deeply.
Increasingly drawn to nature-based spirituality, that speaks to the indigenous soul within us all, she brings this essence into her yoga practice and teaching, holding space with a gentle grace in her trainings, workshops and retreats around the world.

CO-FOUNDER & YOGA TEACHER
Based in SE Asia for over 12 years, Troy established The Sanctuary Resort’s Spa and Wellness Centre in Southern Thailand in 1998 and a Hot Yoga studio in the US in 2002. After serving as a consultant for the Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali, he relocated to the island to co-create SOSA. Now residing in Nelson, British Columbia, his practice continues to deepen as he explores the synergistic effects of earth-based spirituality and yoga in the Canadian wilderness.
Believing that following a tradition or a specific teacher should be secondary to discovering one’s own, unique path, he encourages his students to be free, think for themselves, and to trust their intuition—the voice of Spirit within.

After years spent studying with the sadhus of Northern India, he eventually took diksha (initiation) as a sadhu of the Giri Sampradaya sangha, living the simple life of the renunciate while learning to read, write and speak both Sanskrit and Hindi.
