Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings

A Heart-Centered Collaboration
School of Sacred Arts (SOSA) and Tina Nance Yoga Therapy (TNYT)

100+ hour modules towards 500-hour Yoga Alliance Accreditation

Five unique and diverse advanced yoga teacher trainings have been designed by individual SOSA team members to facilitate continuing education and take one’s practice to the next level.

Each module is powerful in its own right, and can be taken individually, and/or a specific combination of three of the five modules may be completed together (over a 3 year period) to gain accreditation with Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level (all three modules are registered as one curriculum with Yoga Alliance). The final certificate, upon completion of all three modules, will be granted by SOSA.

Please note the following exception: If you choose the “Tina Nance Yoga Therapy” for all three modules for 500 hour certification, they must be all be completed within a two year period.

In order to be granted certification at the 500-hour level, one needs to have successfully completed a 200-hour foundation YA registered teacher training and able to provide the certificate as part of the application process to any one of these modules.

The Peru Immersion with SOSA serves as a deep self-inquiry and therefore is not limited to yogis. Anyone with a deep desire to turn attention inwards (and find home in the wilderness of one’s own soul) is welcome!

For Tina’s advanced yoga teacher trainings, a 200-hour foundation YA registered teacher training or having a minimum of 2 years yoga and meditation experience and a thorough understanding of general yoga asana alignment is required.

Any three 100-hour modules (tracks) in the following combinations can lead to 500-hour certification:

– Yin Yoga + Mindfulness + Yoga Therapeutics (ALL 3 of Tina’s modules, certification will be awarded under TNYT)
– Yin Yoga + Yoga Therapeutics + Peru Immersion (certification will be awarded under SOSA)
– Yin Yoga + Mindfulness + Peru Immersion (certification will be awarded under SOSA)
– Yoga Therapeutics + Mindfulness + Peru Immersion (certification will be awarded under SOSA)

An application process is required for each individual module. Each party (teacher) has designed and carefully assembled their own highly skilled facilitation teams, is responsible for their own individual training/immersion, and independently operates each event. To inquire into each module, please contact the respective party you wish to study with by following the links in the relevant sections below.

Advanced Yoga Teacher Trainings Accomodations

Within a warm cocoon in the foothills of the Andes, our journey and transformation takes place…

East meets West as we experience a unique synergy: the shamanic practices of The Americas and the ancient art and science of Yoga.

The intention and focus of this immersion is to deepen our self-awareness via powerful forms of self-inquiry.

We firmly believe that one’s inner development is at least as important as learning new asana techniques and methods of teaching, as these outer tools are most powerful if we have done, and are always attending to, our personal work.

The old adage “‘Know Thyself” is, in our opinion, the necessary foundation required to teach, guide, and mentor others. Thus, this module will be less about “instruction” and more about us providing you with powerful tools, holding space and remaining present as you look within. These “tools” consist of practices that have helped people become truly connected to their hearts, their souls, and their humanity, for thousands of years. We have co-evolved with them.

Both our yogic and nature-based practices are approached in sacred ceremony as offerings, as prayers, to Spirit and to “Pachamama” (Mother Earth). Yogically, we will utilize pranayama, mantra, mudras, asana and contemplation, incorporating both Yoga Nidra (including an experiential journey through all 5 koshas, the “sheaths” or layers of Being) and Yin Yoga as a way to embody and integrate the master plant teachings that come to us from the South American traditions.

The multi cultural practice of “Council Circles” will also play a significant role during this 10-day retreat, which will preface and follow all shamanic ceremonies, further assisting us with our blossoming and the integration of our practices.

Open to yogis and non-yogis alike, this immersion counts as a 100-hour module towards a 300-hour yoga teacher training for those moving towards an advanced 500-hour certification.

This module also meets Continuing Education (CE) requirements as required by Yoga Alliance.

USD $1950 all-inclusive price includes medicine ceremonies, facilitation, guided hikes, organic, chef-prepared vegetarian meals and accommodation based on shared occupancy.

How does the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy & spiritual inquiry translate tangibly into our practice of modern yoga asana?

As we unravel that which is repressed and stuck in our bodymind, what are the practical tools to help us be with what arises and liberate us from suffering to Self Realization? What is the path to ‘awakening’ really all about?

In this 100-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training, we meet these inquiries directly, drawing from the combined wisdom of traditional Hatha Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist Five Element Meridian Theory, and the mindfulness meditation practices of Tibetan Buddhism.

  • Learn how to release the deep tissue/ fascial trains of the body and create increased fluidity, suppleness, flexibility and organ health.
  • Learn how your body, mind & spirit are connected via the energy pathways of your subtle anatomy, and discover how to meet and align all dimensions of your being directly in your practice.
  • Learn how to influence the chi flow through the 12 primary pathways fueling the 12 main organ systems, optimizing physical, mental and spiritual health.
  • Learn practical tools to meet the internal and external challenges of life, as gateways for transformation and awakening.
  • This 2-week immersion offers a holistic map and practical pathway for potentialising freedom and liberation within ourselves, and in turn, assists the development of direct tools to support and guide our students.

Shraddha Yoga Therapy is a healing system of therapeutic yoga that incorporates the wisdom of the Five Element Meridian System of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Taoist Healing Arts of China and Japan, with traditional Indian Hatha Yoga Asana.

In this training you will learn the precise therapeutic benefits of each of the hatha yoga asana’s, discovering which organs are influenced directly by particular meridian pathways, accessed purposefully in each posture.

Both Yoga and Taoism recognise that the microcosm of our body represents the macrocosm of nature. Each of our organs are governed by the elements of nature and our bodies echo the changing patterns of the seasons.

In this training you will learn how to assemble, practice & teach therapeutic yoga practices for each of the the five elements; Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth, congruent with each of the five seasons; Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Late Summer.

We will learn how to recognise postural implications of chi imbalance in ourselves and our students on and off the mat. And to create individualized therapeutic yoga programmes, incorporating asana, breath, nutrition and lifestyle support, for specific pathologies, imbalances and holistic individual needs.

You will learn how to work directly and effectively with each of the 12 primary organ systems of the body, by vitalising the 12 main meridian pathways, optimising chi flow through the energetic system and influencing physical, psycho-emotional and spiritual health and well-being.

This 100 hour module, is a complete and thorough study unto itself, or may be a contributing module to the TNYT 500 hour RYT Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Programme.

Simone Mackay, Director of Yoga and co-founder of School of Sacred Arts will be guest teaching Yoga Nidra on this module.
